Jul. 17—Decatur police are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday night in Southeast Decatur and the victim is still recuperating in the hospital, according to the Decatur Police Department.
Police said at approximately 9:08 p.m., they responded to the 1800 block of Eighth Street Southeast about a shooting and located an adult male with apparent gunshot wounds. He was airlifted to an area hospital to receive treatment.
“He is still receiving treatment,” said police spokeswoman Irene Cardenas-Martinez on Thursday morning.
Detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation. Cardenas-Martinez said an arrest has not been made.
