Amazon recalls the following items, including children’s products, as a nationwide fatal warning is issued

Amazon and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have issued urgent safety alerts affecting multiple products, including children’s gear and household items. These recalls address hazards like fatal injury, fire, poisoning, or suffocation—and users are urged to stop using affected goods immediately. Here are the items on the recall list:

1. Retractable Safety Gates (LIVACTI / Dearlomum brand)

• Risk: These mesh safety gates don’t meet mandatory enclosure standards. A child’s torso can fit under the gate, creating a serious risk of entrapment, injury, or death .

• Units affected: About 1,400–2,200 gates, sold in black, white, and gray, model numbers like SH20.006D or LT‑BG01‑3, priced around $35 to $75, sold between December 2024 and May 2025 .

• Action required: Stop using immediately. To get a full refund, destroy the product (e.g., cut the mesh), photograph it, and submit the proof to the manufacturer or seller via email or their website .

2. Fabric 15‑Drawer Dressers (WLIVE brand)

• Risk: These lightweight fabric dressers fail to comply with the STURDY Act. Without being anchored to a wall, they can tip over and trap or injure children; this presents a serious tip‑over hazard.

• Units affected: Approximately 6,600 dressers, sold between April 2024 and May 2025 for about $110.

• Action required: If not anchored securely, stop using immediately, move out of reach of children, and contact the company to arrange safe disposal and refund processing—often requiring proof that the item has been thrown away safely.

3. Apollo City 2024 Electric Scooters

Nearly 800 scooters were recalled due to risk of falls and injury from cracked welds.

The CSPC reported that the weld line on the electric scooter can crack, causing the stem to break and posing fall and injury hazards.

4. Creekwood Naturals 100% Pure Gum Spirits of Turpentine Bottles

Approximately 9,000 bottles were recalled for violating mandatory child-resistant packaging standards, posing a poisoning risk to children.

These bottles were sold on Amazon, Etsy, Ebay and Creekwood Naturals from June 2023 through May 2025.

No injuries have been reported and customers are urged to secure the bottles out of children’s reach and request a free child-resistant replacement cap from Creekwood Naturals.

5. Other Amazon‑Sold Products with Hazardous Risks

Newsweek and the CPSC report there were broader recall waves involving multiple product categories:

• Crib bumpers, play-yard mattresses, and other children’s gear that fail to meet safety guidelines, posing risks of entrapment or suffocation.

• Fire-hazard mattresses or mislabelled medical or electrical appliances, which can spark or overheat. Some items even carried undeclared allergens or toxic substances.
